Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate PPI from pixels and print size?

Divide the pixel dimension by the print dimension in inches. A 4000 × 3000 px image printed at 12 × 9 in gives 4000 ÷ 12 = 333 PPI horizontally and 3000 ÷ 9 = 333 PPI vertically.

What if my width and height give different PPI values?

That happens when the aspect ratio of the image differs from the print size and the image is stretched. Print at a matching aspect ratio, or crop the image, so both values match.
