Recommended resolution for banner stands

Roll-up banners are usually viewed from 1–3 metres, so 150 DPI is the common recommended resolution. At 150 DPI, an 850 × 2000 mm banner is about 5020 × 11811 pixels - a large but manageable file. Ask your print service for their preferred DPI before exporting.

Frequently asked questions

How many pixels is a standard 850 × 2000 mm roll-up banner?

At 150 DPI it is about 5020 × 11811 pixels (59 megapixels). At 100 DPI it is 3346 × 7874 pixels (26 megapixels).

Can my photo fill a roll-up banner?

A 24-megapixel photo (6000 × 4000 px) cannot fill a full 850 × 2000 mm banner at 150 DPI without upscaling, because the banner has a much taller ratio. Use vector text/design elements, or ask your print service about their upscaling tolerance.
